Race

 

If you could would you change your race?

Would you no longer want to live in this place

Would you disown your brother, or lie about your mother?

Would you no longer speak your native tongue 

So, everyone around you would know you belong

Would you laugh at the jokes without batting an eye?

Knowing deep down you want to cry

This world can be so out of place 

Especially when it comes to race

Why do we have to be better than another?

Take off the skin and we are the same my brother

But society has passed down its greed 

So, some want more than they need

Then some want to get it, off the backs of others

Never realizing that this is your brother

Oh, how I long to go to a place 

Where there is nothing but the human race!
